Apical Resection
It is a surgical operation to save teeth that have a cyst at the root tip but whose root is intact. Sometimes, when the teeth decay, an infection-related cyst form at the tip of the roots, but because the roots are healthy, extraction of the tooth is not considered appropriate. In this case, the cyst at the tip of the root is surgically removed, the root canal treatment is performed, and the infected part is removed at the root tip. In this way, both the tooth is cleaned and saved from being pulled out.
