Tartar Cleaning (Detertraj)
Detertrage is a treatment that involves cleaning tartar. Tartar is formed by the accumulation of calcium in saliva on top of the plaque formed on the teeth. Over time, this structure hardens and becomes irrevocable by brushing. It needs to be cleaned regularly under the supervision of a dentist.
Excess tartar accumulation causes gum recession and hides caries underneath. Gingival recessions are irreversible, may require surgery, and can lead to the loss of teeth. Tartar cleaning is simple procedure and generally does not even require anesthesia. Therefore, regular tartar cleaning (1 time in 6 months) is financially profitable and protects the teeth by preventing tooth loss.
