Dental Crowns and Bridges (Fixed Prostheses)
Fixed dentures are treatments that are applied when the roots of the teeth are intact but the teeth are too decayed to hold fillings. If a single tooth is too decayed to hold a filling, the decay is removed and a porcelain crown is made over it, which is called veneer. With the decay of more than one tooth, the veneers are designed together and attached, this is called a dental bridge. Dental bridges are also used to replace extracted teeth. In this process, the two teeth adjacent to the missing tooth are filed and the crown is made as a bridge foot. Missing teeth are added between the two veneers. Up to 3 tooth bridges can be made to replace lost teeth. Porcelain or zirconium can be used as material.
